Hooked mule deer shed?

I found this mule deer shed while locating a bull last archery season. I've never seen antlers hook like this before.

I have one with one tine like that, its an excellent back scratcher that is always handy on the fireplace mantle for relief

Wonder if it was injury or velvet damage. Certainly looks like the lower most tine was damaged in velvet at least.

Looks like maybe the buck took a tumble and landed on that antler while it was in velvet. Really cool.
