Homemade bugles

Does anyone know how to make a home made bugle?? I've seen and heard some and they sound just as good as an expensive one by Carlton, Sceery etc. If you know how would you tell me how?? Thanks!!

I've heard a few people that could voice bugle. One was outstanding especially on the grunts and chuckles. The others sounded very bad.

It just depends on the elk. If you get a hot bull he'll respond to just about anything.

For a poor man's bugle, scrape a branch against a tree trunk.

I made a call many years ago. One evening I was sitting on a stump and gave it a try. A bull about a half mile down the canyon and on the other side, answerd. We squeeled back and forth a while untill I saw a cow running across the canyon floor away from me and towards him. I figured I wasn't very impressive. That was the only time I ever got an Elk to respond to that call.
