I read on here somewhere that you know Dave Wottle, he is a second cousin of mine, won a gold medal in the mile run, and was actualy an alternate, but someone got hurt and he got in and won the gold against all odds. i only met him twice and i was real young, but i remember him running at our aunts place in coshockton one summer, his mom is Wanda and his dad was Johnny[deceased] his sister ran around with my oldest sister, anyway i think this is the same Dave Wottle that you knew, Small world sometimes.

Yeah man!! He was pulling his active duty (90 days) as a Reserve 2nd Lieutenant up at Rickenbacker in OHio 73 or 74 I think. He was assigned to my unit where I was the Training NCO and responsible for making sure he met his 5bx requirements which included a mile and a half run. He still wear that ball cap??
Tell him SSgt Foreman, 301 CSG HSS Training NCO says hey!! Wottle, Wottle, Wottle I spelled Waddel I think; no wonder I could never find his file card!
