Hey MT, will this make any difference?

Ol union local boy Sam is proud to have the endorsement of planned parenthood. So he's got that going for him, which is nice.

I respect your view but it’s interesting to hear because that is exactly what this thread is now about. Folks unwilling to change their vote because of single voting issues.

I feel it just doesn’t matter anymore.

Religious voters, immigration voters, pro life/pro choice voters, 2A voters, Public land voters.

There will always be a R/D boogeyman with the public land/conservation voter. We cross too many lines and are unwilling to meet in the middle. We #@)(*%*.

The world will be a lot better place when you guys come to terms with the fact the democrats are gay and closeted racist. But you also need to come to terms with the republicans are racists and closeted gays. Antelope opens tomorrow good luck to those of you that care

Couldn't agree more.

This^ is brilliant!
Maybe a hint of reality.
Original anyway.
A for effort.

That is an odd way to put it. Might want to change that to "until we hold elected folks accountable". I'm ready to start healing.
I tend to think the already established "elected folks" don't give a hoot about accountability, the will of the people doesn't cross their mind and they aren't scared of us. They've divided our country so much that they don't worry about people coming together to vote them out, as long as the demographics in their district don't change. How else do they stay in congress for decades?

So I lean toward bringing in new ones on the right terms. A new person is less likely to be corrupted, and has to work harder for votes. I don't believe the courts will address the rampant criminality among our elected officials. The guillotine worked well for the French until they got carried away. So my genuine question is how do we hold elected officials accountable in today's America where elections are won by those that spend the most money?

Politicians are like diapers. They should be changed frequently and for the same reason.

I believe parties play an outsized role in something not being given enough credit...who the candisates are.

That occurs before the pacs start their ads.

And the extremes in both parties play an outsized role in candidate selection when people with more moderate voices or positions that differ are not accepted by the parties.

Everyone should start by reviewing the parties positions, and assume a candidate will tow the line unless they publicly address how they will act differently.

Thats hard to do when candidates shun public appearances and debates.

It is possible to mitigate party planks if more would get involved in the parties caucuses and meetings leading up to candidate selection, but few are willing to do that.

I would argue that PAC money is why we have extremist candidates. Whackos on either end of the spectrum will write huge checks to get whackos elected. Moderates in the middle don’t. I actually think that both parties would prefer they had more moderate candidates, but they can’t outspend the whackos, and the voters seem to eat up the resulting chaos and treat it all as reality TV show entertainment.

Been voting since 1976.
Never been a party member and never will.
Voting for $ is not my thing.
Need to get all $ out of it.
Think Public Day Off to vote, and the circus leading up is on all channels...free on OUR airwaves and cables. For a month. That's it.

Figure it out folks.
I always vote but there has been a lot of empty boxes that get elected and fill up with $.

I've watched a few interviews with the smokejumper and did a quick check.
I'd vote for him over the other scumbags running. For any office up there.
Two faced scum bags.

Blaming party is a little too conspiracy theorish for me. Neither party is that organized. Most of the painting is done by PACs and the parties actually have little say in what goes out.

Massie is really a libertarian. He just happened to hold to his ideological principals. That’s the thing about a cult, you have to turn those individualistic ideas in at the door when you check in.

Sanders is a true socialist and most Dems are not. That is why he didn’t win. Kind of different.
Maybe we are saying the same thing because this seems to prove what I was trying to express?

They have some different views than most in their party and suddenly no longer represent their party as you state they are “Libertarian” and “Socialist” because they didn’t check the right boxes for the R and D.

IF you hunt "Private Lands mostly".
If you think things are better today than 2 years ago.
If you support taking your children's heritage and giving it to the 2% richest people on earth is a good Idea.
IF you support a wannabe King that supports a foundation that intends to do away with our democracy.
IF you support a party that gives the power to said wannabe King and overlooks his transgressions to our country.
If you support the want the corner crossing issue settled in favor of the landowners buying up private around public.
If you support the commercialization of our public resources.

Then Vote RED.

I could go on for longer time than I have right now.

This isn't a time to be gentile with a party that's as unpatriotic as they are, and one that now supports a Putin over an Obama.

For Christs sake this isn't normal times to even have a discussion like this. You will be judged by your children on how you responded to this threat.

Do the right thing Montana.

We might be, but again those cases are different. Bernie was not electable nationally in 2016 on that platform. He appealed to the average Joe, but the Dems party didn’t give him a lot of $ support in primary. They had a preferred candidate in Hillary, flaws and all. Had he won the primary that would have changed. The R party didn’t want Trump in 2016 and didn’t fund his primary.

Massie has had the same views since he was elected in 2012. Same boxes checked in 2026 except 1. Unfortunately he held to those views and it pissed off Trump.

Parties often get the blame for stuff, but they are very disorganized groups. Trump has co-opted the R party, further confusing the situation. Both are a mess. The reality is there are no check boxes. A person can run for political office under any party and not be registered in or supported by that party. The reason we get extremist candidates is the mostly the fault of the voters, not the party.

This MT senate race is interesting example. Bodnar could have run as a D but chose to go with I because of the stigma of the D. So Bankhead runs in D primary and wins and elects to stay on ballot even though the D party has pulled support and asked her to drop out multiple times. Again, the party doesn’t have the power everyone assigns them. To me, in this example it looks like someone is getting paid. It’s Montana so that shouldn’t be a surprise.

I had to add Two of the most important things to vote Red this Nov.

You like survallance and support Flock Cameras.
You want DATA centers on Public lands, and support giving them the power and water to do so.
