Hey all, started listening the Randy's podcasts so decided I'd check out the forum. Looks like a great community, glad to be a part of it! Pretty inexperienced hunter, will probably be looking for more advise than giving it but happy to share what I know. Gonna be hunting Oregon unit 66 Malheur river (the land south hwy 20) for cow elk in Oregon's high desert, season opens Aug 15th. Spent a few days driving around in the back roads lookinh for elk and habitat but it seems like much of the unit has burned and taken over by cheatgrass. I've got a few plans that I think might work, but if anyone who's hunted the unit or similar could share any info or would be open to listening to a PM and maybe giving input on the ideas I had would be much appreciated.
