Helllo, I'm a land surveyor from Mississippi. I've been hunting for about 40 years - mostly for whitetails, and have been very successful at it. I'm looking to hunt other big game now. I have bow hunted a good bit across the Midwest for whitetail and black bear. I rifle hunt a good bit as well. I am also a writer, and enjoy writing and telling hunting stories; both my own and others I have heard.

I live about 30 minutes from there and have done a lot of surveying and engineering work on Camp Shelby. Lots of rattle snakes there! I did the initial survey work for the new tank range back in 1999-2000.

Saw you posted this in March. Hunting season is under way almost everywhere. Have you had a chance to find a new place and game to hunt? I was just in SE Oregon and had a very dismal deer hunt but did kick up more than 100 chukar. I'm definitely going back out there. The season started on 10/10. By the way, I noticed the deer population in Mississippi is pretty large. Do you think it's worth it for a fella to get a non resident license and fly down there to hunt? I'd like to find a way to fill the freezer every year instead of racing other hunters up the hill to see nothing like in Oregon. What are your thoughts?
