Hearing Protection Act gutted by House Ways and Means, need a push.

Why not? Do stuff legitimately and let folks see where their legislators stand, and pressure them accordingly.

It’s pathetic folks are so conditioned to this disingenuous course of action they think it’s okay.

With a media like this - im sure the pressure would be applied the other way. Theres article after article saying how bad and scary it is.

And you could say the exact same thing about selling public lands. Apparently it’s only bad for some folks if it’s their ox being gored.

From Form 4 to possibly 4473. Now that the tax will be dropped what will it do to BATF’s paper pushers? Because that tax fund went to the BATF.
From a search that came up AI:

Funding of the ATF through NFA Tax
The $200 tax associated with the National Firearms Act (NFA) has historically served as a revenue source for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). This tax is required for the transfer or manufacture of certain regulated items, including suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns.

Purpose of the Tax
Revenue Generation: The tax was designed to fund the processing of applications and regulatory oversight of NFA items.
Historical Context: Established in 1934, the tax aimed to deter ownership of these items by making them more expensive.”

I have never known a government department , agency etc. that didn’t need more, more ,more funds.
So very soon the BATF has lost $200 x annual suppressor sales = revenue funds.
Personnel layoff in the future for them?
Longer wait time again?
Or might it be a step in the right direction to make suppressors a Form4473?
I hope.
Let’s get it passed! My ears would thank you.
