Hanging Euro Mounts

It’s not wanting to post the photo, but this is what I bought, in walnut. Set it up for a wall mount.

I've got a few of those. Look pretty good on the wall but a bit pricey for what they are IMO.

Gotcha I was thinking of like a base with a post type pedestal. I misunderstood.
I've got a couple base/post style euro hangers that I had above by desk at work that I made from scratch. I've since taken them home and hung them up at home. I used a round pine base from Menard's and then bent a piece of rebar enough to it comes out of the base backwards at a slight angle, then back forwards at the top and the rebar goes inside the brain cavity. No bells and whistles to it.
Materials cost me about $10.
I'll see if I can find them and get a picture for you.

Am I the only one who prefer them not to be flat against the wall?
I use the ones that @Wild Bill posted in post #8 above. You can get them for like $2-$3 apiece. They don’t sit flat against the wall. Sit at about the same angle as those wood “pedestal” plaques, without having to see the whole base. I have some on wood like that, but I kind of like the clean look without.

That said, they are too small to hold an elk skull. I used the Dead On Display one for my bull but that one does sit flat. Although the antlers won’t allow for much of an angle so 🤷🏻‍♀️. Even a euro just takes up a lot of space on those things.

Another cool option is this skull hooker tree I really like it in my office. Couple bears, mountain lion, bobcat, pronghorn, whitetail muley and room for several more. Find them cheap from time to time on camofire

I'm thinking more like a base pedestal like this bit with a bull euro.

+1 For simple solutions like the original post.
I refuse to purchase one of those silly "skull hooker" or similar type devices. It's not rocket science !

I use a loop of wire to hang them off a picture hook; the same as large pictures are often done.

The purpose made hooks that hold them out from the wall in a more natural angle look best, but I never get around to it.

Very cool! I've been eyeballing one of those myself for the office.

I've used the ones that disconnected from the wall bracket and had separate angles you could adjust like below. I found them to be overly complicated and expensive.20250530_115333.jpg20250530_115348.jpg

I found these mounting brackets on sale for $6 apiece and bought a pile of them and far prefer them.20250530_115430.jpg20250530_115454.jpg

My dad would hit me if he knew I paid for a mounting bracket🤣. He always just ran wire and hooked it to a nail. Here's a wolf with his handiwork.20250530_120419.jpg20250530_120746.jpg

Deer and elk I've hung. Deer with the same hanger as in post #8. The elk skull is on a skull hooker and sure sits out a ways from the wall, but it needs to in order for the antlers to clear. Hasn't fallen yet.

My inside skulls get skull hookers. They are pricey for what they are but I like how you can make deer and antelope antler more vertical and parallel with the wall.

For the garage skulls, I’ve used towel hangers from Home Depot, the cheap hangers from Amazon, screwing them to a wood burned decorative log then hanging like a photo from the wall, and traditional euro plaques. Personally, I think the skull hookers look the best they just are too pricey.

Bought the same as post 8. A 157 WT is a no go the antlers stick to far back. Will be a good coat hook anyways lol. Ordered a different one that’s supposed time flush still but sticks out a bit further. I have an elk in a skull hooker but it sticks out too far
