Ground Squirrels

I just got a new spotting scope from Predator Optics here on Hunt Talk. I wanted to go give it a quick test drive and try some pics through the scope with my little point-n-shoot camera. Unfortunately, where I live is devoid of 'big game' so I had to settle for 'smaller game,' ground squirrels or as we called them growing up - whistle pigs. Not sure if that nick name is common or not, but as I was taking a pic of a single squirrel standing on these rocks I looked farther out to the side and saw the 'Whistle Pig Inn.' I'm hoping to get some pics through the spotter of something more worthy of Hunt Talk soon, but until then thanks Pat for what seems like a very nice spotting scope.

Looks like the little ones have been born! Those pictures turned out nice. If you zoom in a little bit farther, you can eliminate that vignetting.

I was planning to spend the rest of the day getting some things done on the "honey do" list, but thanks to these pictures, I think I might have to cut that short and spend some time this afternoon warming up the 17hmr.
