Quite the composure. I would’ve been backing my ass up!

Had a doe whitetail that I shot, front legs collapsed and she bulldozed over my legs pushing with her hind legs and stopped about 6 feet past me. Had a bruise on my thigh where her head hit me.
Classic "sound shot."
That's the best way to hunt blacktails out here in the brush country. You hear something rustling in the bushes, so you take a shot to scare it out. Sometimes a big ol' buck comes running out. Other times it's just some old moo cow. Every now and again someone starts yelling profanities from the bushes. Then you know you got to watch out for other hunters in the area. Sometimes it just gets really quiet after the shot. False alarm, I guess.Classic "sound shot."
My dad has a good story from northern MN deer camp back in the early 90s about having a conversation with two fellas out in the woods who were notorious for still hunting the area and blowing whistles to get the deer on their feet. Dad turned the story around on them and told them a fabricated story about how him and his group take sound shots in the general area of any noises they hear to see if any deer are around. Scared the hell outta the other guys. Needless to say, those guys didn't still hunt through that area again.
It's the kinda story you have to hear being told to fully appreciate it, but it's a classic for us.
