I did exactly that to a troybilt one time after fighting the aggravating basta*d for a couple years. Went and got a Husqvarna and got happy....
i did that same thing last year to my husqy. then went and bought a battery powered one and have been frolicking about my property ever since whacking everything in sight without a single issue.

Yea I use some stihl battery ones for work. 99% of the time it's all I need, but once in awhile I gotta whip the gasser
