I have designed, melted, cast, finished, and sold cast iron as the type of engineer I am. Damn near a right of passage for us, really. That price point turns my damn stomach.

Part of me wants to smack one of those corporate jackasses at YETI across the face with their overpriced skillet.

The other part thinks anyone dumb enough to spend their money on those (instead of legitimate cookware) deserves to be parted from their money. Now I just need to figure out how to tap into that market myself.

The company that made those for yeti sells theirs for $250. It just doesn’t say yeti.

There was a fellow here who patented a very popular meter for the oil patch...literally flew off the production line. He claimed it cost him, IIRC, 1400.00 to produce and he added zero to the price...they went for 14000.00 coz he could.

I think you're supposed to use your cast iron skillet for a year, make a spatula out of it and buy another... then repeat. Its the best way to turn your $30 skillet into a $2 spatula.

It's now the only item without any reviews/stars rating. It's also "Out of stock" and I highly doubt it's because they sold out...
