It's a first for me. Loaner rod until mine is finished. 7 foot 5 inch 5 wt Headwaters Metolius. Slings line with the flick of the wrist. Fun rod!

I’ve been harassing the little guys lately, but watching hoppers and chubbies get gobbled up sure is fun. Got one to chase a bugger the other day. It’s been way too hot, and I can’t wait for some real streamer action when I can stop wading in shorts.

Hoppers are winding down and streamers are picking up. All of my local spots have been like learning brand new rivers after the flooding.

Finally, ...now until April my favorite time to fish. Rivers less congested with tourists. Cold hands, wind, frozen line guides, shelf ice.

Forgot to mention..it was a four species day. Needed to include a healthy whitefish, and a walleye.it was the walleyes lucky day, since he got off at my hand.

I'm with you 1000%. But March to April has got to be the best. We refer to it as the secret season. Uggh.... darn it. I gave it away.
