Last day before the ND blizzard. More fun yesterday than post holing today.

Molly will be 13 This year. She spent 8 years hunting professionally, averaged 1,000 birds a year. She was letting me know this morning, snow coming.

I've been alternating my labs hunting every day on local morning hunts.

I think we are all ready to be warm again...but it was another great day for the dogs. Love roosters in the snow.

On our way to SD for a few days of hunting. Made a pit stop this morning before crossing the boarder. Two solid points and retrieves. Birds holding tight.

Franklin's still running around all willynilly out there, having fun and bumping birds. It's his first season, he's allowed. Ruby is doing awesome going into her second season. It's like a switch flipped and she's doing amazing pointing and tracking wild birds. We had a couple chances to get a three bird limit, but my shooting skills decided otherwise.

My first dog in the 1980s was a Visla.
She was excellent on Idaho roosters!

I came across these guys, while out grousing today. They harnessed up 12 huskies that pulled this F250 Dually, I don't know how many miles. Excited dogs - and LOUD!!!!

Howie flushed and retrieved his first pheasants yesterday. He was too young and had major surgery last Fall but he's fully recovered and doing great so far this season.

First trip to the Dakotas for Finley!

We had a blast and can't wait to get back.

First waterfowl trip of the season for Ryker and I last weekend. Tail end of a moderate drought here in WA and shooting was a little slow did manage a mallard and a honker.
looking forward to tomorrow; 5.3 inches of rain in SW WA this week, drought is over and everything is set now lots of sheet water in the fields.

I have one hell of a good dog that's ready to go!

Finley was at it again this weekend.

Got my Dad (pictured with Finley) out this weekend and we had a pretty good hunt on Saturday.

Four roosters and a few nice mallards. Should have had a couple more pheasants but we both missed a gimme apiece.

Finley wasn't impressed with that!
