You are given a few courses to play - if you are a paying customer - it gives you all the courses, etc. HOWEVER - it does allow you to play absolutely free.
The pay version gives you two options - Monthly ($10) or yearly ($60). I started monthly realized I would play more than a few months and figured better switch to the yearly. If you are prone to pay for a game of this sort - I would go directly to the yearly ($5 a month plus a few extra bonuses - vs $10 a month)
I have been looking for a decent golf game to join with friends around the country - when time permits and this has worked great! We have our own skins games, etc.
