. Given the opportunity, I'll press states to eliminate filming on public lands for profit as well. Anyone that cannot see the damage this madness is doing is kidding themselves or refuses to see it because of some personal gain.

The best thing that could happen to somewhat curtail the madness thats been happening! Well,besides YouTube and other social media apps banning hunting content. Im not one much for censorship but it'd support it at this point.

Probably the last bird of the year for me. I was able to end the season on a 4 night trip with some of my best friends. Another great year chasing birds!

I had to go back and look at turkey pictures from the last few springs. Any of you more die hard turkey guys feel free to chime in. No offense will be taken. I just like hunting them, I don't worry too much about subspecies.


The below was taken 7 years ago on the same property I killed what I believe to be a hybrid this past weekend. Nebraska. Looks to me in this photo there is a pure Merriam's and a pure Rio.

Went to Nebraska last year and ended up shooting what I thought to be a hybrid. But mine looks like the above Rios. Could someone confirm my bird.

The LE season here opens this weekend, but the GS doesn't open until 04/28. The waiting is painful as these "city" birds are putting on quite the show.

I got to hunt the entirety of 2 Iowa seasons - no luck.
and then the entirety of 2 Minnesota seasons. I always like to get my full money's worth. I had way more days in the field that most turkey hunters, that's for sure. It was a very frustrating year, that's for sure. But it was fun and next year should be even better.

Very strange turkey behavior in MN this late in the season. Lots of flocks of turkeys. This jake had 2 hens with him. Shouldn't the hens be single and on nests with maybe a few minutes off to feed, solo? I saw nice gobblers with 2-6 hens in the last couple days of the season. And almost no gobbling in really perfect conditions, until this morning when they were talking their heads off, hens included.

Turkey hunting always seems to raise more questions than answers.

We hunted last week and had lots of Tom’s still tied to hens. Lots of jakes but very timid as far as gangs of jakes go. Turkeys do as they see fit, not as we see fit.

Had a good season in PA, gobbling activity seemed to be down compared to other years but still made the most of it and had a great time. Made my first trip to SD for Merriam's and it was awesome! was able to harvest a nice tom on day 2, Chasing birds in that country was awesome and look forward to doing it again.

It's been awhile. So long, in fact, I'm noticing a little grey in that facial hair.
