We did five windows last year.
Same and 5 this year, 5 more to go and im done.
I have not done an in depth quote but from what i have been told im looking at about 20k. I have an ton of south facing windows. It's great in the winter because it warms up the house but the summer can get brutal.
Really depends on the size of the windows and what you go with. Picture window was about $3500 double hungs around $800. Andersens.

Last year we replaced 13 windows. $35,000. Andersen’s. 35 year old house.
They wanted $24k for 11 dbl hung on a MH. I went with ma & pa shop,$11k. 330mi rt.
Life changer. Cool in summer, warm in winter. 1 small window ac. I small air tight stove. 250 g propane for food and back up heat, 3 years...

18 mi from milk & mail....wake up call was a bull this morning.

Through random happenings I had to upgrade my tundra to a 2500 HD gasser before my two WY, NM, & OK trip.

Not complaining though. Feeling blessed that I can afford these experiences and I’ll keep going until I’m dead or broke.

But I’m too high strung to be broke so it’ll be the other….
What kinda mpg ?

Retired, fixed income and a bit tight to allow for taking SS later, its making us think and not just go.

I usually take a number of part day trips. Making them a full day and going less often is in the cards. One trip to the Dakotas instead of two.

Our car is a hybrid, but truck is a 3 liter gm diesel. I am not pushing the truck, near speed limit and I have been getting 29-30 mpg, over 500 mile range.

When I pulled up to partially fill up my truck, it was sobering to see the previous guy spent over $150 on 25 gallons...

I ran some math. If I ignore all fuel costs not associated with hunting, the price would need to be $40-50/gal to change my plans. I just don't drive that much.
Big game hunting doesn’t burn as much diesel as bird hunting. I can always big game hunt around my house similar to the Great Recession. I put a lot of miles on bird hunting. $20 per gallon diesel will make me cut long drives and hunt sub tier places closer to my house. $40-$50 a gallon will end much of my bird hunting travel or my truck becomes a bus for my buddies to come along to split the fuel costs.

Vice versa for me. I routinely hunt birds within 30 mins of the house

Yes, it’s affecting my fall. But I’m working around it. My round trip plus hunt miles is about 2,500 miles and I have 2 trips like that this year (usually i have 3 trips, but poor luck in the draws this year).

Instead of using the F250 diesel, I’ll be hunting out of my personal car and just hiking from trail heads. The price of diesel is just too high and it will go higher. Should save me atleast $1,500, probably more.
