What gas/fuel price would make you change your hunting plans?

I'm headed to SD in two weeks. After doing a little research and math I estimate this trip will cost between $80-$120 more in gas then last year. That's not changing my plans one bit.

I don't know what the actual number would be to effect my out of state or long distance hunts. But agree with @TOGIE there would be some lifestyle changes long before my hunts get cut.

Daycare has had more impact on my hunting then gas prices ever dreamed of having. When I had two in it man that was easily a guided hunt a year or more. So fortunate my mom is retired and watching the new one for us. Saves me $1200 a month that's a lot of gas.

It’s not just the fuel you all are spending. The Hostess and Little Debi are up from the fuel too. All products are raising prices from fuel surcharges.

I think you need to 2x your cost from last year for a more realistic expectation.

We decided not to have kids. We paid off our mortgage over 25 years ago. I guess I was a bit out of touch with the costs of rent and child care. Damn !!! Has to be tough going for a young couple getting started in today’s world !!

My brother has no kids at least not yet. (We make the same exact money) always says how expensive shit is and hard it is to save and I always laugh. Then my buddy who recently got raked over the coals in an ugly divorce with two kids laughs at me when I say the same thing.
