Gary Johnson - Pro Transfer of Public Lands

Bummer. But not surprising

Since The Republican Party has taken its own life, it seems like a perfect moment for the rise of the Huntin' n Fishin' Party. I know just the web forum host to be our candidate. ;)

Honestly I'm surprised he even gave that much support for public lands. Libertarians generally want to sell it all. Too bad. He seems like the only descent person in this.

Me too. The Libertarian Party sounds good to someone who pretty much runs down the middle like me. Then you dig a little deeper into their positions and see how many of the government services and programs you like and think make sense that they would gut.

I'll have to disagree. The Libertarian party does not run down the middle. I don't think they've ever sounded like they run down the middle.

Gypsies, tramps and thieves.. Interchangeable between the 3.

I like the THOUGHT of the Libertarian party a lot more than the reality.

Fiscally conservative and Socially liberal is pretty much how I live my own life.

Its the implementation at the party level that gets me. Where/how the money is spent isn't analyzed too well, imo. Its just cut cut cut.

If you want to be fiscally conservative, I'd start by looking at why you're paying $5 for a pencil (example, not necessarily accurate).

That's fine. To me "Fiscally Responsible and Socially Liberal" gets you pretty close to the middle.

....with the Donald's self immolation,

I'm still not convinced it's self immolation. The corporate media is spinning a lot of gas and matches around. When it came to Ryan, he said he wasn't quite there yet. That's not what the media is saying he said. I could go on and on and on with distinctions between what Trump has said/done and what is being said that he said/did. Such conduct by the corporate media is exactly what forces people like Hillary and other "mainstream" candidates on both sides to master the art of saying nothing worth listening to while their lips move so much. Platitudes and empty rhetoric.

His greatest stroke of genius, and what almost brought me back into his camp again (but-for his choice of VP) was his thing with the crying baby. Show me a politician who isn't all about kissing and hugging babies and he's got my vote. It's not that I hate babies, it's just that I hate people pretending they like something because everyone says they must. "Put that little brat back on the tit and shut him up; I'm trying to talk here. You came to listen to me, not the other way around." Donald is the kind of guy who would slap you in the back of the head for lighting up your GD cell phone in the middle of the movie. And I'm the kind of guy that would clap and pay for his ticket. Yet the media would then call that an over-reaction, he's Hitler and I'm a sap and the world will end if he's elected.

James, I'm pretty sure getting pissed about a baby was due to ego and an inability to deal with much of anything. The media has been on Trump's case because he acts in ways we teach our children not to. His traits run counter to everything a good leader typically displays. The mental gymnastics people engage in to justify his behavior is gross.

Huge ego, no patience. That's it.

Before the knee-jerk counter-argument turns to Hillary, keep in mind that from what I wrote above, it does not follow that Hillary herself is acceptable or even better than the Donald. It's just been a strange form of moral pornography to watch people defend the man.

Very, very much this. I see my highly religious family desperately searching for an argument to vote for Trump as if it's the great moral cause to not elect a democrat, especially Hillary. The same people who have given their lives to Christ are ready to vote for the biggest liar on the planet and have suspended their own beliefs in order to vote against someone. It's pretty sad.

Our children have seen and heard more due to liberal bullshit than anything the megalomanic donald has ever said. Is it kneejerk to mention that H--> is spending millions quoting alleged trumpornisms with images of children looking traumatized?
