We sat around the kitchen table of my paternal grandmother's a few years ago and listened to her stories of feeding troop trains in the middle of no-where Nebraska during the war (Granpa was in England, dodging V1's & V2's, waiting to invade France). She showed us the photos of the dances and we finally got a vision of my Grandmother as a young war bride, baby boy (my dad) in tow.
