Friday Tunage: Sproinging into Spring

My buddy Darrin and I did this for 12th grade talent show 1979. He played his SG and I sang. We didn't have strings. It's a good song for young players who are not quite locked in on the metronome. We worked on this every afternoon at my house for a couple of months. He had learned it playing along with the album and asked me if I could sing it. Darrin is a math teacher in Boise now. I don't think he plays at all. Sad because he was really good.

We came in second behind a girl who killed Rhapsody in Blue on piano. She was locked in on the metronome.
We weren't the sure thing with the ladies I thought we would be.

Maybe this could have been written better. He had strings on his guitar. We didn't have a string section like in the video.

When you were a kid, pencils were considered such a precious commodity your teacher thought you needed a box for them and every 70s dad was like “OK, here’s a f###ing box.” And then we’d all go to school smelling like Fidel Castro

Springtime. It's allergy season.

I wanna grow tomatoes on the front steps
Sunflowers, bean sprouts, sweet corn and radishes
I feel proactive, I pull out weeds
All of a sudden
I'm having trouble breathing in
I'm having trouble breathing in
I'm having trouble breathing in
I'm having trouble breathing in
My hands are shaky, my knees are weak
I can't seem to stand on my own two feet
I'm breathing but I'm wheezing
Feel like I'm emphysemin'
My throat feels like a funnel
Filled with weetbix and kerosene and
Oh, no, next thing I know
They call up triple A
I'd rather die than owe the hospital 'til I get old
I get adrenalin straight to the heart
I feel like Uma Thurman
Post-overdosing kick-start
