Football General Talk

I used to think the championships were more Belichek than Brady. Brady’s Super Bowl with Tampa Bay and the disastrous season at North Carolina have changed my mind.
It was always Belichek riding the coattails of Brady. Still a good coach.
Not certain he could pull a miracle in the first season at Norh Carolina.
Reach back to me in a couple years.

He also comes from the bill parcels coaching tree. Parcels coached both Army and Air Force as a positions coach.

Parcells:

You are what your record says you are

There is winning and there is misery.

When you don't know that you don't know, it's a lot different than when you do know that you don't know.

Don't worry about it. It's just a bunch of guys with an odd-shaped ball

The only players I hurt with my words are the ones who have an inflated opinion of their ability. I can't worry about that.

Lotta truth in those statements.

In the era of the transfer portal, he will have players get tired of him pretty quickly.
Probably so , his success is based on everything athletes aren’t these days. Unselfish team players. If he is able to adapt and get the right players i could see him being like Kirk Ferentz and never coaching a great college football team while maintaining a high level of success. In addition to training his athletes to do what it takes to succeed at the next level. Many of whom were unheralded 2 and 3 stars when they arrived in Iowa city.

Kirk ferentz is from the bill belichick coaching tree.
