I don't see JJ stepping in and doing what Jayden Daniel's is doing this season in Washington.

How come? Nobody has given any significant data to prove otherwise? Is he a shoo-in top 10 QB in the league next year? No, but it doesn't mean he can't do what darnold did. Again, top 10 pick, would probably be a top 5 pick this year, if not first overall. Lotta upside there.

Also, is Darnold or Jones the right guy ahead to teach and work with JJ? Obviously with the injury I'm sure he didn't get a lot of the same type of mentoring from them in that locker room.

You don't bring in darnold or jones to teach McCarthy anything. Darnold was brought in as a bridge QB who had a magical season. Jones is another rehab project. They're not being brought in to save the franchise, or to teach the young QB. Thats why they hired a guy who is a former QB and has a track record of working with and developing young quarterbacks.

I don’t disagree with you at all. The packers didn’t take any steps forward as a team this year, in fact they took steps backward for what the preseason hype was. I don’t think lafleur is in jeopardy but they need to make big strides fast.

Think about this, the packers were a blocked fg away from going 0-6 in the division, and only lost to 4 teams they played all year.

Vikings only lost to 2 teams all year, Lions and then Rams, twice.

Idk about that. The team played well and didn't take any bad losses all season (well ok, maybe against the Bears in week 18). I see that as a sign of a well coached and well disciplined team which we didn't seem to always have last year. They were still were penalized a lot but less than last year.

Not counting week 18 to the bears, the losses were to teams that ended the season 14 and 3 or 15 and 2. Some tough breaks in those games too and it wasn't out of the question that they could have won two of them.

Defense was much improved all the way up to the 5th best overall on the league with 13th in pass defense and 7th in rushing. Significant improvement all around and a young defensive roster staged for big things next year.

So if I was the Packers GM, I'd be super happy with the team and it's progression. I'd be figuring out and tuning in to what could be changed to win those bigger games.

Until he proves otherwise, he is a $30M qb, not a $60M one - and overpaying him will drag down his roster over time.

Do you honestly think they played well and were well disciplined? A well disciplined team does not commit personal fouls on the first drive of the second half when they desperately need a stop so the offense can get something going.

The packers, and coach Lafleur has said this, only put together 2 complete games the entire season, the 49ers game and the saints game. Yes, they won a lot of other games, but in each one of those games they had drives, quarters or halves in all phases of the game that were not representative of a well disciplined team.

Yes I do. It's about having it together to be able to handle being down and not letting a game get away that shouldn't or being ahead and keeping humble and focused to get the job done. The team had that this year very much so like the Chiefs do. A refusal to lose a game you shouldn't.

The Packers were rightfully so a playoff caliber team and matched expectations about exactly. At the start of the season, no one was claiming them as a favorite to make the Super Bowl but they were in the group discussed as having a shot. Exactly the same spot at the start of the playoffs.

I never said that losing to the bears and and the eagles was good. I said a big part of how the Vikings and their fans judge a season is how they do against the packers.
