10 million dollars...Belichick's not afraid of the slings and arrows of having a much younger consort. We might have been misreading Bill's interest in coaching college football. At least half the students are co-eds.

One thing, maybe the only thing, I admire about Belichick is his lack of fear, or more precisely his lack of care about what others might think.10 million dollars...Belichick's not afraid of the slings and arrows of having a much younger consort.
There is a difference between courage and anti-social personality disorder - I am not convinced Bill is on the good side of that line. One thing, maybe the only thing, I admire about Belichick is his lack of fear, or more precisely his lack of care about what others might think.
Oh, I absolutely agree with that. He is beyond rude, esp. for a public figure. There is a difference between courage and anti-social personality disorder - I am not convinced Bill is on the good side of that line.
If he worked for the post office he would be a full on sociopath with body parts in the freezer.Oh, I absolutely agree with that. He is beyond rude, esp. for a public figure.
Yes.But is he a great coach?
Definitely a great coach (top 10 for sure). But is he a great coach? I mean his 8 super bowl wins (6 as head coach) clearly was just because he had Phil Simms and Tom Brady at QB so there is no way that makes him great right?
Sorry, couldn't resist...
Would you rather have him or JJ as your GM?Definitely a great coach (top 10 for sure).
Also a lousy general manager.
I'd take the Cowboys' 3 rings from the 1990s, and Bill's 6 with that Pats, and deal with their senior citizen shortcomings.Would you rather have him or JJ as your GM?
Didn't he also win 6 Super Bowls as a GM?Also a lousy general manager.
Technically, but most insiders think Pioli was architect of the roster build and salary cap management (the important GM stuff) that got them the first 3 and still had big impact on second 3 after he left. It wasn't until after he left that Bill actually got involved in that stuff. Have a buddy who is top attorney for Kraft family who said lots of folks think zero chance Bill gets the first few rings without Pioli, and without the first few wouldn't have been around long enough thereafter to get the others.Didn't he also win 6 Super Bowls as a GM?
Makes sense. This is such a grumpy 75 yo take. The Bill Belicheks and Bobby Knights of the coaching world are a thing of the past and were all worse off because of it.
You were so close to being my new google. This is such a grumpy 75 yo take.
I reject the premise that being a complete narcissistic *sshole is a leadership style the world will miss.

Nahh, it's a "teams AND COACHES need to be held accountable, and folks work better longer when they feel respected" take. There is nothing snowflake about having enough self control not to punch or choke a young player or throw a chair in a public venue. That is completely phony tough guy stuff. There is nothing tough about mistreating people you have total power over -- that is the weak child. The strong man has self control and finds many better ways to lead men/boys.This is such a coddled little 18 year old princess take.
Bobby is revered by pretty much all his peers and colleagues. But your right what do they know...I'll listen to the random armchair forum guy instead. Listen to guys who played for Bobby and tell me that the overwhelming majority didn't feel respected.Nahh, it's a "teams AND COACHES need to be held accountable, and folks work better longer when they feel respected" take.
