The Iowa natural heritage foundation is a group that works with private landowners who wish to sell their land to the DNR or another public agency acting as the middleman until the public agency can come up with the funds.

Ps. The INHF also holds land permanently. I've been hunting one of their properties every opening weekend for thirty years. Their president was an undergrad in my program when I arrived in Iowa.

You are correct. In addition to all that they do private conservation easements and have a great internship program that many people have gone through to gain practical on the job skills before they land a full time job with other public agencies.
They just finished a really nice acquisition in the northwest corner of our county that includes a stretch of one of Iowa’s premier trout stream and connects to a larger portion of public land that will be transferred to the state DNR asap.

It's good to know the state is still accepting property.
The governor and legislature seem to have a strong dislike for that.

3 big weeks coming up in the NFC North. Packers v Vikings tomorrow! I’ll have the tv on at work! I honestly would not be surprised with anything. I think the bears will be a knocked back a few notches the next couple of weeks, the lions will step up and the Vikings wil maybe find a spark. The packers have the injury bug real bad right now.

Just got back from watching the CJI Hawks take down Winnett/Grass Range in the class C - 6 man state championship. What a great game, WGR up two touchdowns at half and CJI comes back to win in OT. Both sides played a great game, kids played their asses off. Wife’s home town won. Drinking a hop zone to try and get better at hunting someday

Crazy stat listening to the packers pregame: JJ McCartheys qb rating in the first 2 drives of a game is 121. After the first 2 drives his rating drops to 59.

Ugh...almost worked perfectly. Packers win, was watching the Wild, first goal and the largest buck we know on our property stepped out at 320 yards. Wife missed

I hope you hunting was better than mine. Saw only 1 rooster and it was in the first 10 min. At least I dropped him. Long day woth only 6 hens to keep it interesting.
