Flagstaff

Same. Had a friend go to college there in early 2000’s and it was an awesome place to visit. Went back through there on my way to southern Arizona in 2023 and still enjoyed it.

No long term experience so definitely curious what op has to say.

It makes Casper look like Beverly Hills. It's taken on a slimy vibe since my younger years, definitely not a place to leave anything in your vehicle overnight. Not that you should anywhere, but Flagstaff feels like tweaker central.

Did some tik tokkin’ Gen Z types dancing in front of their phones in odd clothing give you a scare or something?

Did cold weather training at the Navajo Army Depot while in the Marine Corps back in ‘96. Had a blast when we got to go into town…loved the “Museum Club” one night there was a band playing from rt by me here in San Antone…Bandera Texas…drank quite a few yellow bellies w them boys that night!
Daughter n son in law stopped by there last year while in Sedona…Museum Club still there n looked pretty close to the same from the pics they sent me

I must have been missing something. Kinda like Flagstaff, the urban sprawl has been bad, homeless folks in places, sure. Get through there once a year, didn’t make it on our way down the first of February, will run up there just for grins in a couple of weeks on our way back to Oregon.
No way it’s worse than Portland. Talk about a city that lost it’s way.

I’m looking forward to going back this fall.
I enjoy visiting there for a few days each year. A crapton of freight trains (120 per day) so I stay to a few miles north of downtown which adds another half hour to drive up from Phoenix. Forest fire risk is off the charts to the north, though, so insurance is also not a sure thing down the road which is why would never live there plus, you know, all those trains.
