Fitness for mountains when you live at sea level - thoughts?

Sucks on cardio. I have hypoxia and CO2 intoxication is a bad thingie for me. Hoping getting back to exercising fixes that on top of a temp oxygen concentrator with my CPAP.

I'm running outside. They took the cardio equipment and spread it out but masks are still required. I hate treadmills even when I don't have to wear a mask. I live in Southern AZ and just get up early when it gets too hot. Weather is nice this week. No triple digits!

Sounds like a triathlon....eh
Nah,just daily life in those days living @ 600' & always going to 7500' to 10k.
10 yrs now living @ 7450' and only ancient seabeds to surf on foot ,I'm doing good. The years of surfing/swimming & biking built my lung capacity & heart strength. Construction work built the limber bod.
65 & 5yrs post heart attack from stress, I am in better shape than most folks my age who grew up here.
Building a post & beam barn solo now & I just take it easy.
