What pants does everyone like fishing? I hate pants I wear shorts all the time and have to wear coveralls for work. In the winter I wear insulated bibs with jogging pants underneath. I’m looking for some light weight cool pants that flex and allow movement. My legs have gotten chewed up here in Yellowstone this weak and it has me wanting to invest in some good pants. I used to think some of the brand name stuff was over hyped but after my first pair of Sitka pants I believe they are worth it. So what do you guys who do a lot of hiking and fishing wear?

Tech pants of any brand for me. Usually get from Costco for pretty cheap.

For me, tech pants hit two key areas, flexible / stretchy material and light weight. That makes hiking easier.

I wear these most days, and if it's hotter or more active day then I'll wear a lighter option. Never tried the name brand ones for this. I do have kuiu pants but those are hunting and cold weather only

Tech pants of some flavor. I’ve used Columbia and North face in the past, as well as random Costco stuff. I’ve had good luck with some of the more budget friendly stuff lately that has slightly thicker fabric.

Currently I’m in love with the Orvis tech pants I got from Costco and Sierra. Cannot recommend enough if you get them on sale and in the right size (Sierra got me on that one).

Think I’ve also got a pair of Weatherproof Vintage, maybe from Costco?

My wife has a couple pairs of Wrangler tech pants from Walmart. They are an excellent value.

Use the tech pants for hiking, fishing, and some hunting as well. They are great under waders, stretch, breathe well, dry fast, stay cool (but not cold), and don’t snag/tear on brush. If it’s colder out, I’ll just throw on heavier/longer wool socks and a pair of heavier gym shorts underneath.

Big fan of the Prana Stretch Zions from REI which, despite the goofy name, are not super tight or form fitting.
I like my Prana shorts alot. Bought a pair of zions with a screaming deal but bought the straight leg. Make sure you buy the other ones, not straight leg. They feel kind of like bell bottoms and a tripping hazard. So buy the athletic fit or whatever the other ones are.

I also like REI trail made pants. Bought some in sale for $20 a few years ago.

Prana Stretch Zions are my go-to, 90% of the time. If it is a bit cooler, the Sitka Mountain Pants are great, expensive, but great!

I loved the old style of these. Tried a pair on last year and had quite the uncomfortable knuckle situation going on.
