First Idaho Hunt

My son and I are heading out this week for our first Idaho hunt. We normally hunt eastern WA muley with mixed success. We are currently leaning towards 8a for whitetail.
We will be staying in a camper on our truck and plan on hiking out from there.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Weather looks like it’s going to be pretty decent. Most hunters will be gone once elk season closes on the 24th and expect most locals you see to be riding gated roads on atvs

You’ll want a Potlatch permit for 8a.

Most areas have lots of deer. The disease die-off from 3 years may still be impacting areas. I have permission to hunt private ground in both 8 and 11a. Last year 11a still didn't have many deer - unit 8 area was loaded. I'm heading up Nov 10th.
