My son got his first elk this morning about 40 minutes into his first ever elk hunt. Went into an area I killed a bull in a few years ago and walked right up on a small herd. 3 busted out over the hill so I started cow calling and this one snuck into 30 yards and he made a great shot. Now it’s time to get him a bull! Still have 7 days so stay tuned! I also have an archery deer tag just incase but will be focusing on him for sure. What a first morning.
