For all the fans of exploding gophers, gutpile lovers, and those who subscribe to the "extreme hunter" crap, here's a pic of a real extreme hunter. This guy wasn't leaving his kill, even with me looming over him - a thing 200 times his size. For those who've let a G Bear claim your dead elk...that bear only was 2-3, maybe four times your size.....we humans are wussies......

What kind of bird did he disembowel? He looks like he is giving you the eye. That is a sign to back away slowly.

Great shot...that pigeon must have exploded feathers when he hit it!

One year I climbed Crazy Peak(Crazies) by bushwacking from Big Timber Canyon road.I was following a game trail towards the beginning of the hike and noticed a Goshawk sitting on a branch about 35 yds away.I had just finished uttering the word "cool" when that bird dropped off the branch and swooped at my head.I ducked and hit the deck,he just missed me and disappeared.I stood up and he took another pass at me.Thats when I grabbed a big branch, held it behind my head and ran straight uphill. The bird did a third high speed assault and finally I got out of its zone.Call me a wussie but I still have my scalp fully intact.

Attacked and ran off by something 1/200 your size....I rest my case:D. I won't tell you about my run in with a short tailed weasel up Buffalohorn....it still scares me too much.

I once new a biologist who would climb trees to look in on Goshawk chicks. That dude was nuts,he had to wear a hard hat which one bird kept knocking off,all while dangling from a climbing rope.
