Some will remember a huge bull that lived in Estes Park that got named Samson due to his size. The poaching law is named after him as he got "poached" by a complete idiot. WELL this year there are several very large bulls hanging out there and look like they might be direct from his blood line. My son spent a couple of nights camped close to the meadow and got really good video of them...The park has timed entry and camping permits required and reservations but if you are into seeing very mature bulls it might be worth the effort. A side note...a few days ago a cow elk wandered into one of the shops on the main drag and spent about 10 minutes inside. A girl just has do some some shopping. ?

There are some excellent facebook pics and video of those bulls. Also a bull moose called Frank the Tank.

Follow good bull on instagram, he’s the Estes park resident elk watcher and photographer, he made a post a while back about that split 5 getting killed. Someone with the unit 20 tag got a pet to wander in the right yard I guess

If anyone wants true challenges, there are 350-400" + bulls that exist in the wild even in non trophy units. They are not nor will ever be spoken about openly though. That much remains. Seeing them, and killing them are 2 different things. Least in areas that actually get hunted for real.

Despite the wishes for Top Tier animals and a realistic shot, I'd put this akin to the unlimited sheep units as to difficulty.

ehh it's a lot easier to scout from the golf course or your ring camera. Hunt smarter no harder!
