Here’s a “little six” on the unit that I will have a tag for this fall on the late limited entry hunt next year in Utah. He’s what 280-285? I think he has what it takes to be a really good bull if given more time to age. My question is what do you think he could be this coming fall? Could he be 315-330? Bigger?

Also, how old do you think he is. 3.5? 4.5?

I don't think he hits 280" Stu. He needs a couple more years imo to punch a limited entry tag.
300" next year maybe? I don't know, prob close.

FWIW & comparison....both of these bulls grossed right around 310"

I’d say there are a lot of factors that will determine how much it grows. The feed, genetics, and location can all play a huge roll. My wife shot a 387” bull two years ago that we have the sheds off of from the year before and he was around 335” that year. I’ve also got a set off a bull for two years in a row that didn’t change much at all other than a little mass, and I don’t believe he is an old bull. I’d guess that bull would be around 295”-300” next year, but purely a guess.

Can’t say what that elk will be next year but there is no way he’s 250 in those photos.

This bull is not on my radar I’m just interested in how much they grow from year to year
