Went out to a few spots I had E scouted. I have found bed and enough elk poop to verify this was a well used area until maybe a week ago. Scatt still had color and a little moisture, but tracks were rounded and not very fresh. Also, I am hunting the edges of private ranches with very green fields.
Elk gone any ideas.

Elk. I don't mean this flippantly, it's just sometimes it's too easy to get focused on a particular e scouting trait. Elk will travel a ways for food and water. What they are really looking for is security. Sometimes you need to think outside the box.

You could always come and hunt Wyoming. To find elk in Wyoming you close your eyes and walk until you smell sagebrush. Open your eyes, and there will usually be elk standing there. It’s been a proven strategy for me.

So what did you do to find one?
Started to target areas in between the 2-3 large herds of elk on private, and look for smaller groups elk. Lots of glassing, walking, and windshield time using different access points.
