EHD dead deer

Where I saw the happening was on the Salish kootenai where deer are not harvested. I have watched this cycle three times in this area where the population grows and then gets wiped out. I understand low deer populations in other areas. I was only referring to the waste that I saw in a nonhuntable area near Charlo.

Hopefully things turn around! Gotta love these beautiful areas. Happy hunting

This is in victoria, land of OZ. We call it mcf.
Luckily it stops at the sick deer, transmitted by sheep lambs.

Interesting. Do you see it a lot in wild populations there?

Here it’s mostly only seen in captive species. However we did have some bison from a couple of federal herds that died of it- kills them very quick.

To explain, the wild axis porcinus(hog deer) have little resistance, but if they dont come into a say 1 km radius then its dispersed thru ground and vegetation to not affect the deer.
Unfortunately i have a sheep farm next door, downwind of the prevailing wind, bad luck for me as im into breeding them, did not know of this disease before buying my property.
It doesnt kill the animals quick but normally can take up to six months or so, some die in fairly good condition but the unfortunates lose condition

I think some writing has got lost in the post. Im too stressed out re the petrolium prices going way up to think.
