Eagle Walk

Left the house early this morning and took a walk near the confluence of the Columbia and Wenatchee rivers.

The young eagle has left the nest! He and mama eagle were kind enough to pose for a few photos. Thought you'd enjoy:

Saw a lot of other birds, kept hearing a pheasant, but never saw him. Good call on his part with a couple of eagles nearby.

Nice. Youngsters left the nests here in Iowa about 4 weeks ago. I can not believe how fast that chicks grow.

Great Pics have nesting pairs at the local Lake,but they close the upper reaches
so eagles Aren't disturbed.Good numbers of offspring this year!

And, back to the eagles. Junior is growing fast! Mom is still hanging out near him. It appears that they've abandoned the nest but so far have stayed near the nest site. I found them again only a couple of hundred yards from the nest:
