Drought in Alaska

Damn those fire's seem brutal. Are the fires in any areas that could help habitat issues for thinhorns?

Typically the fires are below the elevation used by Dall sheep.
Good for moose winter habitat (willow/aspen), bad for caribou winter habitat (lichen)

Might be a record wildfire season with over 2.5 million acres burned already.

Drought has ended. August is typically a rainy month.
We have 2 summers: hot and dry, then cool and wet.
"Wet" is relative...we get 12 inches total for the entire year, so a half an inch is a lot of rain for a day.
Ironically the mosquitoes are worse during the hot/dry phase of June-July.
