It's probably time to just let that go...I hope those on the line stay smart and safe. Lost too many lives already this year.

When it hits the summit road, It’s all down hill to the grand Rhonde valley. Worst thing is it’s one of Oregons top three elk hunting areas, 20 years to draw and a 400 inch bull comes out of there every year. Hopefully most of them moved out ahead of the fire.

Per OnX it’s 48 air miles from north edge to south edge of this fire.

Enormous effort to hold that series of fires, some thing like 12,000 firefighters on the ground in Oregon right now fighting these fires. Take a drive this fall look at the fuel and the ground the fires were in before the lightning storm started most the rest of them. Those fire fighters did their jobs.

We are on the right side of the wind. Things look bad. There will be a lot of homes lost.

The amount of fire growth in places yesterday was insane.

Looks like fire crews made a heroic stand with the Hagen fire last night. Wife was out with country SARs helping to evacuate folks but thankfully we didn’t get the predicted wind. Looks like they got hammered up in Washington however. The fire has burned a significant portion of the Mt. Emily GMU. And we’re not done yet. Be interesting to see if ODFW does any thing with the Any Bull tags. The unit is coveted hard to draw with great trophy potential.

The Tartar Fire in Idaho went from 12k to 94k acres in a day. Have a couple of friends who aren’t too far from the evac area.

I don't know if I've ever seen that much intense heat coming out of a fire.


All the while it was 55 and raining on Stevens Pass yesterday. Such a diacotemy.

Chelan fire had this comment:

Yesterday was a tragic day for so many parts of our state. Our fire service was and still is completely overwhelmed. Multiple state mobilization requests were made, and no resources were available. We have held most of our Chelan and Douglas County resources, knowing the Little Giant would eventually need us.

This is going to be a long firefight, and we ask that you all PLEASE do your part and do what you can around your property. DO IT TODAY! We wish we could have a fire truck at every house. But there are not nearly enough resources, and sometimes fire conditions just won't allow it.

Our hearts are with so many people who have lost everything in the last 24 hours, all throughout our state.
