Driving back from Alaska with fish

I'm letting a buddy take my truck to pull his new boat up to his son's place in Alaska next week. I'll fly up with my boys and Dad in August and we'll spend a week or so fishing and then take our time driving home. I've always wanted to drive it once and this is my opportunity. Question, would I be better off just shipping the fish or do you think it would stay good in coolers if it's frozen solid to begin with? I do have some "higher end" coolers that are supposed to keep things cold for 5-7 days but I don't want to lose fish along the way. Also, are there any issues bringing fish into Canada and then back into the US? Thanks for any help or tips.

Most folks bring freezers, and generators.
