Desert elk vs. high country elk, Taste different?

Just wondering if there is much of a difference in the taste of the meat from a desert elk vs. a high country elk? Seems like desert elk scrounging around on sage and dry grass would be a lot different than elk up high foraging on greener meadows. I have no idea, just curious. I'll be going on my first elk hunt this year and it'll be desert elk.

I've eaten both, many times in the same year and I have not noticed a distinct difference.

I cut my elk hunting teeth in alpine and now hunt mostly desert. Tastes the same to me.

No difference, and Antelope are out in the sage their entire lives and taste better than Elk.

I never noticed a difference with elk. I do think there is a difference with deer.

It's taste will have way more to do with how you handle it. Get it cool quick and try to hang it to let the blood drain.
