My wife and I are not deer hunting this year, not with rifles anyway. We got up early and grabbed her camera. The idea was to get some prerut activity. We saw lots of does, lots of bucks. Every mature buck was either cruising for does or tending does. 92F1B699-295F-45C1-B496-71E8A289FCD0.jpg
This little guy crossed the road looking for some action

This guy saw him coming. He saw us too. He ran the interloper off but stayed around for a few pics. Eventually he got fun off by an equally impressive buck.

This guy cruised for does while we watched from about 30 yards. He was with another buck that was VERY worn out. The other buck used to be a 4 x 4 by appearance but was all broken up. This guy laid down in the shade and napped while we watched.

I wish this guy would have kept coming. I spotted him at about 600 yards and he came to us, more or less, until about 200 yards. He laid down under that bush, right out in the open, and disappeared. His front forks forked on both sides. Beautiful buck.

We felt really lucky to see so many nice deer in 1 day within 5miles of each other even if we weren’t hunting. My wife took all the pics and edited out any landmarks, except the fence in the first pic. Don’t ask, won’t tell.
