Deer - lets see em

One my middle brother killed. Oldest brother spotted him the evening before about 10 yards from my stand. The next morning I pulled into the path to go to that stand and he was standing there and jumped into the beans. I waited until shooting light and walked down the path to see him 30 seconds before he bedded in the beans. Called my brother and he came out with the shotgun and walked the field until he jumped up. Finished him off in the swamp which is why he is so dirty
Some of the buckshot took the g-3 out and clipped the brow tine.

Up in the tree stand before shooting light , a doe and a fawn come across on a well used trail 15 yards in front of me. soon after a young buck grunting following them, shortly after that a much bigger buck is following grunting away, still before shooting light.
About an hour later I see a good buck working his way directly toward my tree. I assume that as soon as this buck hits that cross trail he will also follow it and give me a great broadside shot.
The buck crosses that trail and stops by the base of my tree. he gave me enough time to lean over draw back and pick out the right spot . After a quick 60 yard run he tips over and my Iowa public land quest came together after tons of hours scouting and many days up in trees !IMG_3869.jpg

Just got home from northern NM. Went one for two on public land.
my son got this on day two. I passed up some smaller bucks on the first three days and then didn’t see any bucks on the last two days.
south slopes were mostly bare but north facing had a lot of snow on them.

Filled my nd bow tag night before rifle opener. Shed is his from last year. Been after him for 3 years.
What a badass buck dude and way to keep your eye on him. That’s incredible I hope you’re doing the shoulder mount!
