Last weekend in laughlin my Friend and I were having room service and watching the river....and this helicopter starts hovering over the river... and then here comes a patrol boat... out jumps 2 divers and they pull up a body drag it onto the boat.... the chopper and the patrol boat leave..... almost like it was "routine".... I never saw or heard anything about it on the news .... Makes me wonder how many Deaths/ drowning go unreported.... how do i search to see what happened.. it was Sunday morning .....You would think this would make the news???

CJ, I found the headline in the Bullhead City Tribune

"Man jumps to death after attending free Sinbad Show"

im sure they would want to keep things on the down low when they pull a body from the river.......it tends to hurt the image.
thats why they yank the carcus out and split before the press shows up.

The Daily News

BULLHEAD CITY - Two male visitors were pronounced dead after separate weekend accidents on the water.

Michael Guzman, 33, a resident of El Segundo, Calif., died Saturday afternoon in Lake Mohave after a personal watercraft he was riding collided with a boat.

The driver of the boat pulled him from the water and emergency workers tried to treat his injuries at the scene, according to Roxanne Dey, public information officer for Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

However, Guzman was pronounced dead before he was able to reach a hospital.

The accident is currently under investigation by officials from Lake Mead NRA. Rangers are unsure about who was at fault. A medical examiner will determine the exact cause of Guzman's death, according to Dey.

In an unrelated incident, officials responded to a 9-1-1 call at about 9 a.m. Sunday by a family member of a male victim in the Colorado River, near the Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce.

Larry Tunforss, a spokesman for the Bullhead City Fire Department, said exact cause of death has not yet been determined but it is likely the man drowned.

“He was a victim of the water,” he said.

The victim's family member reportedly lost contact with him and searched for him for an hour before calling for assistance.

Officials from the Department of Public Safety in Kingman arrived at the scene by helicopter, where they searched and located the body in the water near Harrah's Laughlin Casino & Hotel.

“Frequently, when water is low a helicopter can spot a body, and that's what happened,” Tunforss said.
