Davis Mountain Javelina Draw

I drew a TX tag for the first time ever this year. It is a javelina archery only tag in Davis Mountains State Park which is about 2700 acres. Apparently you can shoot unlimited aoudad and feral pigs as well. Anyone ever gone on this particular hunt before? Also, what is your favorite way to cook javelina?....I want to give it a fair shake before I say it is awful!

Congrats on the draw...awesome country down that way. I have no real helpful information other than there is a Texas public land hunting group on facebook that may have some people in the know.

As far as the javelina I donated the only one that I have ever shot(which I regret.) I would find an older Mexican woman to whip it up with some homemade tortillas

Pulled BBQ is popular.I actually froze a couple roasts and sliced them into steaks as thy thawed.Marinated with Italian dressing overnight and grilled med.-rare. If you overcook they become tough.They turned out real well.Plan on doing it again next pig.
