If drawn,I will be using my CVA Wolf for my Colorado cow elk hunt this fall. It has served me well.I put a Williams ghost ring sight on it and shooting 348 grain Powerbelts over 100 grains of Tripple 777 ,it shoots an honest 5 inch groups at 100 yards. That's as good s my 62 year old eyes can do,but plenty good enough for an elk.

I got a CVA Hunterbolt Magnum and it will be plenty good, I shot two elk here with that exact setup. It won't have the same shock effect and they will run/walk some but this will do it. I put both in the lungs the longest one went was about 150 yards. Just wait at least 30 minutes before you go after them and hunt like your stalking a unshot one. I have seen them get up and go up to two miles with a bad shot. That is not my idea of fun when it comes to packing out when it could have been helped with good placement.
