Csonka Pleads Guilty To Filming On Federal Land Without Permits

Pointer,

I'm not looking to film in the woods, although before this thread, I was unaware that you needed a permit to do such. I'm looking to make furniture from dead trees for resale. The last guy told me I could use my firewood permit as long as I limit the lengths removed to 6' or less. I don't completely trust his answer. Don't think a rec specialist will help me with this question but thanks anyway. A knowledgable F. S. employee would be helpful however. You know where to find one?

Sorry about the bad beta, but I thought you were referring to a film permit. I know a few, but they're a good bit from you. The local forester should no the rules. Heck, have them cite you the reg/rule that says you can use firewood to make furniture. I wouldn't think that would be a problem as long as you are only taking the amount you are permitted for.
