Creek fishing

That looks amazing. I have fished the Animas a few times and really enjoyed it. Down here in MS we take cane poles to the creeks and pull in shell crackers. It's always a fun time with the kids.

Day two. Brought my neighbor to our special spot. What a rippin fun time. I barely fished. I just watched my daughter and neighbor have the time of their life. You couldn't pay for this type of fun. Had to have caught 50 cutthroat. Countless were lost. What a great four days of fun. Two days on the raft and two days in the mountains. All it cost me was gas.... worth every penny.

I love fishing creeks. We got a couple last week in MT when I was "home". The amount of traffic on the river is sickening, vs 5 miles off the river, on an overgrown road leading to a stream loaded with fish. I stopped fishing after catching and releasing 34 fish in about 2 hours. My all time record on this stream is 42 in 1.5 hrs on a hopper fly. So much water too little time.

I’ve been spending hot days on small spring fed creeks and rivers in the Driftless Region. Nothing huge but it’s been fun and refreshing wading in the cool water! The last photo was taken by another hunt talker who randomly pulled into the parking lot while I was unloading my canoe. He had no plans to fish that day, but decided to come along after I invited him. We ended up catching a few nice brown trout and lots of small smallmouth bass.
