Cow elk rifle

And, I went the frangible way. Once year and done.
Yep, sucks throwing a bunch of blood shot meat away IMO. Never seen anything like it....always used cup/core bullets...powershocks, corelocks, or terminal ascents. I don't like over complicating things...My next rifle, I'll buy 200-300 rounds of the cheapest of those three options in 7 rem mag ~150gr, put a nice scope on it and call it done for another 15 years. When my son's ready to hunt he'll either handle a 7 rem mag with a 150 gr. bullet or he can pick up golf lol.

I gave my dad my 7 RM this year then had an issue with my .308 and had to send it to the factory. So 6.5 CM with 140 gr Nosler BT is the choice for me this fall. I'm not worried.
6.5CM with 140 gr whitetail rounds dropped my cow within 30 yards. Lungs were jelly. Slightly quartering towards at about 140 yards

Bull elk rifle this coming week has been decided. Tikka 270 win with 150 grain SSTs.

The real question is the backup bear pistol. Glock 10mm with 200 grain hard casts? Glock 9mm with 147 hard casts or 147 gold dots? Tisas 9mm 1911 with the same? Smith .44 with 240 hard casts? Only time will tell…

308 winchester shooting 150gr partitions. Went in just inside the left shoulder, came out behind the right shoulder. Flopped a couple times and died.No meat damage.

I see more meat damage. 190 mono Buffalo Bores in the 1 cm. mtmuley
The SSTs aren’t too bad, especially in the heavier for caliber bullets. Similar to the core lokts, interlocks, etc. I’ve used. I haven’t tried monos in the centimeter, but I’d like to try the Lehigh monos.

I am no expert, but I think frangibles work best heavy at slower velocity. I've used them at warp speed. Not good. I like my bonded and monos in the rifles. I was in between the 190 mono and 220 hardcast. Mostly feel good having the shooter anyway. mtmuley
