Cook in the tent or no.

This Fall I will be hunting out of a wall tent. Until now I have slept in the truck or a small 8x10 tent. Minimal cooking. So, in a 12x20 do you guys cook inside the tent? Has a vestibule also. Woodstove might be utilized too. Probly not full on meal prep but reheating and breakfast stuff. Thanks mtmuley

Absolutely. It’s pretty damn convenient.
Wouldn’t cook full on meals or things like bacon. We do the main cooking outside of the wall tent. Welcome to the club.

Love it. That or cowboy coffee.

We have a percolator with a wooden handle. I've partially melted the top view hole because of the stove pipe.

But the strainer doesnt really filter, so you get a little bit of the Cowboy coffee effect.

A couple weekends ago camping, my in laws were there in a different camp spot. I asked my FIL if he wanted cowboy coffee. He never heard of it. Haha. I told him what it was. "No, I'll pass" lol.

I have a small 8x10. I try to do most of my cooking outside to reduce food odors. I do cook inside it whenever the weather is poor though.

I used to hunt with a friend and his 12x14 with vestibule. He always used the vestibule to cook.

We would set up the vestibule as the camp kitchen. But we rarely encountered snow -- that would likely have changed our thinking.

I went bougie a while ago and got a French press. Nice to go highbrow with a warmed up breakfast burrito

I'm not in Grizzly country (supposedly) but not worried about them yet. I figured in a 12 x 20 I could have an area to cook and eat with room to spare for sleeping area. mtmuley

I just keep a table to cook on across from the wood stove. There’s plenty of room.

@El Jason has a camp chef like that, I really want one. Makes for a great wall tent kitchen. I still have the old folding Coleman.

Man, there are grizzlies in every mountain area in MT. Bear's paw, Snowies, belts, little belts, Highwoods, just to name the ones by me. Freezout Lake, Tibor Reservoir, Teton River, Sunriver, etc. All have confirmed Grizzlies. Watch your backs, also bear regulations apply no food, cans, coolers, or garbage left in sight.
