It’s going to kick your butt without good mountain horses. Does your wife have a good term life policy on you? Watch out for warning signs of attitude sickness and you can expect heavy to severe lightning thunderstorms that week most years. Those mountains are very mineralized and attract lightning. Good luck

Welcome from MS! You'll have a great hunt as long as you don't mind working for it. Don't be afraid to look for elk anywhere from 9000' and up.

Also got drawed for archery there, live by Albia ia. I got same response earlier this spring and don't have a lot of computer time either, but a lot of info here, and still looking for ideas. GOOD LUCK

So how did your hunt end up going? I love unit 66. Have had multiple tags in there. Had some great archery elk encounters and harvested two cows with my rifle.
